Why do the networks focus on bad news? Sure, because that's what the people want, but why? Not me, I hate bad news, but I rarely get the good kind. Give me some good news, like "Hey, you won the lottery!" or "Scientists discover a new fajita that makes you lose weight, cures old age and stops global warming!" I could use some news like that.

A Genius at Work

As a parent, you wish for your children to be an upgraded version of yourself. Julie and I are fortunate enough to see this come to pass, as recently exemplified by our daughter Brittany. To the surprise of no one that knows her, she has made straight A's this semester in college. In fact, she had the highest overall score in her psychology class, and certainly one of the highest in her math course. Her performance as Lady Gaga drew rave reviews in her drama class, along with the stirring rendition of "Hobo Justice". As 2009 draws to a close, both her mother and I offer our sincere wishes that 2010 will be just as wonderful.
